Abstract

 

The objective of the research was to describe and analyze the rises and subside of PT. Kertas Leces Probolinggo in 1990-2014 by studying the history of the company through socio-economic approach. The problems are formulated as following: (1) How were the dynamics of Paper Factory Leces Probolinggo before 1990; (2) What factors caused the ups and downs of Paper Factory Leces Probolinggo until 2014; (3) What was the impact of the ups and downs on the workers and the community?. The theory used in this research was based on the theory by Neil J. Smelser. Methodologically, this research is a historical study, so it applied historical method. The results showed that: (1) The condition of production development and employees of Paper Factory Leces until 2014 very dynamic, because of there are some cases that have to fix by management (2) The causes of the loss of Paper Factory Leces were such as the government policy, financial condition, raw materials, fuel, gas (3) The deterioration of the factory, the construction of boiler, and the actions of the employees struggling for their rights.

Abstrak

 

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dan menganalisis pasang surut PT. Kertas Leces Kabupaten Probolinggo Tahun 1990-2014 dengan mengkaji sejarah perusahaan dan melalui pendekatan sosial ekonomi. Adapun rumusan di dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) Bagaimana dinamika Pabrik Kertas Leces Probolinggo sebelum tahun 1990; (2) Faktor-faktor apa yang menyebabkan Pabrik Kertas Leces Probolinggo mengalami pasang surut hingga 2014; (3) Apa dampak kondisi pasang surut tersebut terhadap buruh dan masyarakat. Landasan teori yang digunakan adalah Neil J. Smelser. Secara metodologis, penelitian ini merupakan penelitian sejarah, sehingga metode yang digunakan adalah metode sejarah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, (1) Kondisi perkembangan produksi dan karyawan Pabrik Kertas Leces hingga 2014 sangat dinamis, karena ada berbagai persoalan yang harus diatasi oleh manajemen (2) Penyebab kerugian Pabrik Kertas Leces antara lain kebijakan pemerintah, kondisi keuangan, bahan baku, bahan bakar gas (3) Dampak kemerosotan pabrik antara lain timbulnya kerugian sampai dibangunnya boiler dan aksi karyawan memperjuangkan haknya.
