ABSTRACT
This research aims (1) to describe the form of terms in the making of coconut sugar on javanese community in Kaligondo village, Genteng sub-district, Banyuwangi district; and (2) to describe the interpretation of the meaning and terms in the process of coconut sugar making on javanese community in Kaligondo village, Genteng sub-district, Banyuwangi district. This research uses three research methods. The first method is data collection method, by using observation and interview technique. The second method is data analysis method, by identifying that the data is in the form of terms or it is not using distributional method, the technique used is direct element share (BUL). After knowing that the data is in the form of terms, the next analysis is the interpretation of the terms meaning. The interpretation of the terms is based on the perspective of the user community, the method used is referential equivalent method. The third method is the method of presenting the data analysis result, by using formal and informal presenting method. This research discusses about the forms of the terms which is contained in the making of coconut sugar by categorizing the terms in the making of coconut sugar in the form of words and phrases. The following discussion is about the interpretation of the meaning and the use of the terms in the process of sugar making in Kaligondo village, Genteng sub-district, Banyuwangi district
