Abastract
The political violence taking place at the end of Abdurrahman Wahid’s administration was just a contemporary case having more political contents than the cultural one. It was not the manifestation of “the Tapal Kuda” characteristics. Therefore the Pendhalungan culture is a cultural capital that can be employed to develop a civil society in the Tapal Kuda area in the future. The Pendhalungan culture has no contribution to create political violence taking place in the region.
