VISITING THE KAMPUS MERDEKA INTERNSHIP STUDENTS IN THE LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES OF EAST JAVA PROVINCE

A few days ago, Drs. IG Krisnadi M.Hum (15-16/9), serving as a supervisor of MBKM program, visited the students of History Program joining one semester internship at the Library and Archives Service of East Java Province. During the visit, Krisnadi met with the head of the Archives Rescue and Utilization Division, Drs. Tidor Arif T. Djati, M.M and staff, as well as the students of the History Study Program. In his statement, Drs. Tidor Arif T. Djati, M.M, welcomed the MBKM internship at his office. Internship students are trained through practices in the Division of Public Services, Archive Processing, Archive Digitization, Archive Tourism, and Archive Acquisition. In internship activities, students are assisted and directed by Bapersip employees who have rich experience in their fields. To fulfill the 840 hours of internship, students do a variety of jobs ranging from making manuscripts of historical sources for Banyuwangi, Madiun and Probolinggo, making poster designs for archive galleries, actively participating in Archive Tour activities via online (E-Waras), helping staff to acquire archives. at the Department of Agriculture of the Province of East Java, republishing the manuscript on the 10 November event. The head of the Library and Archives Service wants internship students from the History Study Program to be pioneers of archive socialization for the formation of a nation’s character loving homeland and nation through E-Sane activities. He also expressed the hope that the History Department of FIB UNEJ will continue to send students for internships. To realize this hope, the head of the Library and Archives Office plans to immediately visit UNEJ. The good news is that the internship activity has aroused the interest of various parties to participate in the Library and Archives Service programmes, including requests from teachers and students of SMPK Maria Fatima Jember to participate in E-Sane activities. Through student internships in the Merdeka Learning program, other positive responses can be expected to continue to emerge.
